Camping Rules

  1. Campsites are big enough for your tent and a car - we work off a rule of thumb of one car and one small (3-4 person) dome tent - approximately 6m x 4m area.

  2. You will park your car next to your tent. There is strictly limited space for parking so car-pooling is recommended.

  3. Each person in a vehicle entering the Adventure Alternatives site must be PAID FOR IN FULL BEFORE ARRIVING. No paying on arrival.

  4. If you want to camp alongside friends you must meet up beforehand and arrive together. No Holding sites for others.

  5. Campsites are allocated by Adventure Alternatives staff.

  6. Overly elaborate campsites are not permitted. No couches & large furniture items permitted.

  7. Camper trailers and moderately sized campervans and caravans are fine. Large motor-homes or Winnebagos are not. Campervans up to 7.5m in total length and caravans up to 6m in length are OK, anything larger will not be allowed as they will not fit on a campsite.

  8. Fires are not allowed in the campground or the centre.

  9. Please respect the site and your fellow campers. Any unruly behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in your removal from the site.

  10. Camping areas are designated quiet zones from 10pm onwards.

  11. Leave valuables at home or lock them in your car. Don’t leave them in or around your tent. Get to know your neighbours. Keep an eye on their tents too and report any suspicious behaviour to Adventure Alternative staff or police.

  12. Once you have set up camp, driving around the campground is prohibited. You will walk to Splendour.

  13. Driving off-site, during the event, is prohibited. Should you need to leave for an emergency you will need to make arrangements with Adventure Alternative staff.

We recommend CAR POOLING to reduce the number of cars on our roads and so the neighbours aren’t too annoyed.

We ask for your RESPECT for our FACILITY, OTHER USERS and the ENVIRONMENT. We have personally built the facility with our own hands and money, please please respect our effort to supply this facility to you. Other users may not want to the consumed in your party, so we ask that when you come back to site you leave the party in the festival and make this a quiet area for others to enjoy and use. We have a strong Environmental Focus for the centre and want others to follow our lead. All our water is sourced on site, all waste is recycled onsite, and permaculture gardens and aquaponics garden provide food and education for participants. Over half of our property is a Voluntary Conversation Agreement area protecting the environment for the future.

Directions to our site: we are at 283 Woodrow Road, Woodford. We are right next door to the Splendour site, on the same road. To access our site you will need to drive past the main gate and drive in where you’ll see the “AAEC Splendour Camping” sign. You MUST access our site via Woodrow Road. The in car GPS’s will try and tell you to use Wright Road however this  road is BLOCKED and has been for years, so don’t try. Getting to the Festival is on the Splendour website.
